If you are trolling for Walleye on the Lake, the Size 1 Dipsy Diver is likely the most important tool in your box. This is the standard size diver used by captains and recreational anglers alike to get spoons and worm harnesses down to the strike zone without the hassle of downriggers.
Why we run them:
The magic of the Dipsy is the directional base plate. You can set the weight to the left or right, forcing the diver to swim away from your boat. This allows you to run multiple lines on each side (building a "wall of lures") without them tangling.
Key Features:
The "Trip" Mechanism: When a Walleye hits, the trip arm releases. This stops the diver from digging, so you fight the fish, not the resistance of the plastic.
Adjustable Depth: The Size 1 dives to roughly 30-50 feet depending on your line out and speed.
Includes the "O" Ring: This snaps onto the face of the diver to increase surface area, giving you roughly 20% more diving depth for those deep summer fish.

⚓ Cranberry Creek Pro Tip:
Don't forget your Snubber! Dipsy Divers have zero stretch. When a big Walleye or Steelhead smashes the lure, that shock can tear the hook right out of the fish's mouth. We highly recommend adding a shock-absorbing snubber between the diver and your leader to keep that fish buttoned up.
